Treatment - completed

Music video – Treatment

Synopsis:

·       Beginning:
The main character is introduced by showing her packing her suitcase whilst singing facing the camera, this implies that she avoids her boyfriend who is there this whole time standing in the door way watching her but not saying anything. Once she’s finished packing she makes her way towards the front door and he is following her about but stops once she has shut the door suggesting the end of their relationship. She then leaves the key under the mat and walks down the street with her suitcase. The scene will be filmed at night and the darkness outside also suggest that she is in a bad mental state. On the contrary the street lights will emphasise that she is looking for hope.

·      Middle:
The second verse will mark the middle of the video. Here we are going to show flashbacks of their relationship whilst they were happy. We are going to emphasise on their enlightened moods to give an insight of their past. We will also show how their relationship turned bad, as the protagonist will observe her boyfriend with another woman. Here the flashback will end. The song will pause and we will rewind the events from the beginning of the video. This will continue further back than from where it started and will show events prior to her packing her suitcase. The music will then resume and we will see the couple arguing this will end with her walking to a corner of the room where she will retrieve her suitcase.

·      Ending:
While she's singing the bridge, the scene will consist of scenes of her breaking objects and having a mental breakdown. It's will be a rather dramatic and emotional scene, because we want the audience to relate with what happened to the girl. Right at the end of the bridge the roles will be switched up and he be asking her to stay whilst clinging onto her stopping her from leaving.

Videos that have inspired the reason for this video is j Coles video 'daddy's little girl' as it is based on real life situations similarly to the meaning of this song. It is a narrative video just like 'ask me to stay'. Also Roxxxans 'power' shows female power and how we need to stay string throughout hard times this is something I want to incorporate into the video.

As for casting and actors, we haven't chosen any actors for the roles as of yet but will be doing auditions with the performing arts department this Thursday to find someone will fit the role of a vulnerable but strong woman who is able to cry and show emotions. The props needed are a suitcase, door key, vase, mirror. The locations we aim to use are the filming studio, the street and a house.

There are no ethical considerations that need to be noted within this video. The full length of this video will be roughly is 4 mins 30 secs. The video is targeted at young adults aged 18-27 as this is something they can relate to as breakdown in relationships are common. The video would be released on YouTube and featured on music channels like MTV
